Details
After the conceptual sketches are reviewed - first by the principals, then by the
client - it's time to put together some proposals. If I manage to dig up any
photos of my proposals, I'll add them here later.
Once a proposal is agreed upon, the designer (or his/her apprentices) begin working
out some of the pragmatic details: how do you build certain shapes, what do you have
to do to get approval by the local architectural review commission, pass local
earthquake and energy standards...
The following are some drawings I used to present how these
issues were to be addressed. The first two drawings involve solar studies;
the local ordinances required energy efficient buildings.
The next two drawings are design development cartoons, detailing the
bank's interior and how it's ceiling and lighting was going to work.
