What This Privacy Policy Covers

This policy covers how Graphcomp treats personal information that Graphcomp collects and receives, including information related to your past use of Graphcomp products and services. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Graphcomp does not own or control, or to people that Graphcomp does not employ or manage. In addition, certain Graphcomp associated companies have their own privacy statements.

Information Collection and Use

Graphcomp collects information regarding your web browser platform and capabilities in order to target and improve the presentation and performance of our services for your use.

Graphcomp collects personal information when you register with Graphcomp, when you use Graphcomp products or services, when you visit Graphcomp pages or the pages of certain Graphcomp partners, and when you enter promotions or sweepstakes. Graphcomp may combine information about you that we have with information we obtain from business partners or other companies.

When you register, we will only ask for your name and email address.

Once registered, you may choose to provide public profile information such as birth date, gender, contact information, zip code, occupation, industry, and personal interests.

When purchasing products from our site, we will ask for billing and shipping information, including credit card information, address and phone number. Credit card information is only used for the duration of the purchase transaction, and is not retained by Graphcomp.

When signing up for developer or beta testing programs, we may ask for your present company name and title, as well as skills and work history pertaining to that patricular program.

When requesting consulting services, we may also ask for company information such as physical address, corporate web site, approximate company size, description of products and services related to the consulting task.

Once you register with Graphcomp and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us. Graphcomp collects information about your transactions with us and with some of our business partners, including information about your use of financial products and services that we offer. Graphcomp automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, Graphcomp cookie information, and the page you request. Graphcomp uses information for the following general purposes: to customize the advertising and content you see, fulfill your requests for products and services, improve our services, contact you, conduct research, and provide anonymous reporting for internal clients.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Graphcomp does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except to provide products or services you've requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
  • We provide the information to trusted partners who work on behalf of or with Graphcomp under confidentiality agreements. These companies may use your personal information to help Graphcomp communicate with you about offers from Graphcomp and our marketing partners. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.
  • For online purchases, credit card and related billing information is securely transmitted to trusted billing partners and banking institutions who may retain such information for purposes of the commercial transaction and customer support. These companies maintain their own privacy and security policies, and are controlled by governmental agencies, not Graphcomp.
  • We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Graphcomp's terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.
  • We transfer information about you if Graphcomp is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, Graphcomp will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • Graphcomp displays targeted advertisements based on personal information. Advertisers (including ad serving companies) may assume that people who interact with, view, or click on targeted ads meet the targeting criteria - for example, software engineers from a particular geographic area.
  • Graphcomp does not provide any personal information to the advertiser when you interact with or view a targeted ad. However, by interacting with or viewing an ad you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.
  • Graphcomp advertisers include OpenSource communities, companies offering inhouse jobs. Graphcomp works with vendors, partners, advertisers, and other service providers in different industries and categories of business. Cookies

Graphcomp may set and access Graphcomp cookies on your computer.

Advertisers who provide advertisements on some of our pages may set and access their cookies on your computer. These companies' use of their cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. Advertisers or other companies do not have access to Graphcomp's cookies.

Graphcomp uses web beacons to access Graphcomp cookies inside and outside our network of web sites and in connection with Graphcomp products and services.

Your Ability to Edit and Delete Your Account Information and Preferences

You can edit your Graphcomp Account Information, including your marketing preferences, at any time.

New categories of communications may be added to your Account Information page from time to time. Users who visit this page can opt out of receiving future marketing communications from these new categories or they can unsubscribe by following instructions contained in the messages they receive.

We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the Graphcomp service, such as service announcements, administrative messages and the Graphcomp Newsletter, that are considered part of your Graphcomp account, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.

We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.
