Graphcomp made headline news on opengl.org announcing the release of POGL 0.56 and OpenG::Shader modules.

Together, these modules abstract OpenGL ARB, Cg and GLSL shading languages, simplifying the use of 3D vertex/fragment shaders, and increasing portability between various GPUs.

Graphcomp's Bob Free is made primary owner of CPAN's OpenSource OpenGL module

Mr. Free will submit his most recent Perl OpenGL 0.55 release, pending independent confirmation of tests on key platforms and GPU - expected before the end of the month.

0.55 has been confirmed on Windows (NT/XP/Vista) and Linux (Fedora 6, Ubuntu Dapper) using various nVidia cards.

Future plans include a fully 2.x-compliant 0.60 release, followed by a 1.00 release that provides an OOP interface and server-side support.
