[] The User Interface

MUTT(tm) Lite is designed to minimize the need to switch from the keyboard and the mouse; repeatedly switching between keyboard and mouse will render a user non-competitive on a battle mud.

As such no toolbars, and few menu options, are provided; every Lite feature is available via the keyboard.

Multiple Sessions

To open multiple MUD sessions, simply use the "Open..." option on the "Files" menu and start a new session; a new window will appear. This can be done via <alt-f> (hold the <alt> key down and press the "f" key), then pressing "o".

To switch between multiple sessions, use <ctrl-tab>. To disconnect the current session, use <ctrl-F4>.

Pause Mode

Each session window may be "paused". This causes incoming text to be temporarily queued so that you can scroll back your display window without being interrupted by activity on the MUD.

This pause mode can be toggled by using <ctrl-s>. When pause mode is on, a red bar will appear between the display and command windows. When pause mode is off, the bar turns green.

When in pause mode, you can use the up, down, left and right arrow keys as well as the <pgup>, <pgdn>, <home>, <end>, <ctrl-home> and <ctrl-end> keys to scroll the display window. <ctrl-home> will scroll to the top of the display buffer; <ctrl-end> scrolls to the end.

Cut&Paste

You can select text in the display window by drag-selecting via your mouse.

Alternately, you can select text in the display window enabling pause mode <ctrl-s>, moving your cursor to the beginning of the text to be selected by using the keys above, then holding the <shift> key down while using the arrow keys to expand the selection.

Once text is selected, you can paste this to the command window using <ctrl-v>, or you can completely replace the command line by using <ctrl-x>. If you simply want to copy the text to the clipboard, you can use <ctrl-c>.

If these cut/paste options don't work for you, try using <shft-del> for cut and <shft-del> for paste.

To return to the command window, remember to use <ctrl-s>.
