I founded a company called GraphComp in 1982. At it's peak, I employed one other full-time engineer, one part-time office manager/marketing rep, and several consultants. Our clientele spanned the US, Canada and New Zealand. GraphComp recently published a fairly popular Winsock-based MUD client.
Although my focus has always been interactive computer graphics, I have worked in a number of fields in the past: architectural designer/draftsman, graphic artist, freelance model-builder and photographer, grad math tutor, forklift driver, construction worker - I even did a short stint as a semi-professional jazz dancer, touring the coast of California.
When I have the time, I enjoy sketching. My media of choice are: felt pens, graphite and colored pencils. Not counting 3D rendering, I'm just now beginning to use the computer as an original art medium - check out Jameraude.
I have worked in the past as an architectural designer. I enjoy designing, model building and rendering presentations. I've put together a tour of the architectural process, which include one of my design projects and photos of the completed site.
Back when I had more time, I would go through rolls of film at a single sitting. Most of my subject matter involved textures and contrast. I used to process all my own negatives and color slides. I'm slowly beginning to scan my photographic archive.
I go roller skating with a bunch of buddies every Wednesday. I also enjoy ice skating.
I used to ski about 4 weeks a year, then virtually quit in 1990. I'm just now starting back up again.
Most of my remaining free time is spent creating Multi-User Domain (MUD) software.
